Today we depart from Sydney International Terminal on our Air New Zealand flight to Norfolk Island departing at 9.55am (0955), arriving at beautiful Norfolk Island at 12.35pm (1235). Flight times may be subject to change.

Upon arrival, Pinetree Tours will meet you at Norfolk Island Airport and transfer you to your accommodation at Castaway Motel.

6.00pm  Progressive Dinner to Island Homes
Enjoy A 3 Course Meal Progressing To Different Norfolk Island Family Homes. A Fun Night and A Great Way to Meet the Local People, & Sample some of the Island Dishes

DAY 3  TUESDAY 30TH OCTOBER 2018
8.30am  Pinetree’s Half-Day Tour
Is a must for all visitors to Norfolk, visit Historic Kingston, Cascade, Longridge & much more. See & hear about the famous Convict Buildings, beautiful beaches & golf course, the renowned Melanesian Chapel our Government, laws & lifestyle. Enjoy views from scenic spots on this full commentary conducted tour.  Rest for delicious Morning Tea in the garden of an historic island home built by Fletcher Christine & Matthew Quintal.

1.30pm  Cyclorama
Experience the totally unique 360° panoramic painting that will take you on an amazing journey.  Feel like you’re really there witnessing the Bounty adventures and discover how the world’s most famous mutiny created the Pitcairn and Norfolk communities.
Conceived by Norfolk Islander Marie Bailey, this gigantic panoramic painting vividly illustrates the story of her ancestor Fletcher Christian, the famous Mutiny on the Bounty and the descendants who settled on Pitcairn and Norfolk Island.
A spectacular 3D effect is achieved with realistic perspective and detailed artwork stretching all the way to visitors feet.  Storyboards, lists and maps explain the history in an easy to understand way.
The Cyclorama provides a total experience.  Come on a memorable and absorbing journey

4.45pm  Island Fish Fry
Enjoy a feast of Island dishes, salads, homemade bread and fresh fried fish, followed by Island desserts and tea / coffee. Watch the sunset from Puppy’s Point on Norfolk’s beautiful western coastline.

8.15pm  Sound & Light Show
Nightfall at Kingston brings a different mood to the convict settlement. The stillness and the stars are there just as they were before mankind arrived in 1788. However, with the dramatic use of real life sounds,  theatrical lighting and costumed actors, the stillness is broken as Pinetree Tours takes you through the horrifying decades of Norfolk Island’s convict era.

DAY 4  WEDNESDAY 31ST OCTOBER 2018
7.00am  Breakfast Bush Walk
Take your choice of an easy stroll through 100 acres reserve or for the more energetic, a leisurely 3.5km walk through scenic Mt Bates to Captain Cook Monument. At the end of both walks we meet on the cliff top for a delicious BBQ breakfast

1.00pm    Tin-Aii-Tour
A photographer’s delight.  Enjoy spectacular scenery & view Norfolks most eye catching & beautiful places on this three & half hour tour.  Afternoon tea is included.

6.15pm  Murder Mystery Dinner
A murder has occurred during the first settlement. Each guest will be given a costume and a part to play. Whilst enjoying a three course dinner, passengers will ask each other questions in an effort to find out who the murderer is!!

DAY 5  THURSDAY 1ST NOVEMBER 2018
8.30am  Behind The Hedges Tour
Travel to Anson Bay to visit a small hobby farm, which has been instrumental in improving our local livestock industry.  Close by see a demonstration at Norfolk’s major pottery and browse at the Cottage Pottery shop.   After a delicious morning tea at a scenic location, visit a beautiful private and commercial garden that supplies our local florists with stock.  Visit Peter Christian’s Kentia palm plantation, which has exports around the world.  Exclusive to Pinetree Tours visit ‘Sweeties’ & learn how we make chocolate on Norfolk.

7.30pm  Mutiny On The Bounty Show
See descendants of the Mutineers bring the story of the famed “ Mutiny On The Bounty” and historic events to life in a one & a half-hour show performed in an outdoor amphitheatre on Norfolk’s western coastline

DAY 6  FRIDAY 2ND NOVEMBER 2018
8.30am   Greenfingers Tour
Another tour featuring some of the Island’s most lovely gardens.  Throughout the morning we visit nursery owned & operated by a young Norfolk Islander, a private fruit and vegetable market garden as well as visit a georgeous private garden with a spectacular view of Kingston & Nepean & Philip Islands.  Our local historian will give a talk on this area with a history dating to 1788.  Morning tea is served in a scenic location.

5.45pm   Dinner at Castaway
Tonight we enjoy a 2 Course Dinner at Castaway, Norfolk Island at their onsite restaurant

5.45pm  Night As A Convict
A fun night out for all ages, dress as a convict & join with the commandant for an evening of feasting & singing. Great food, great fun, (outfit supplied). This is the most popular feature dinner on Norfolk.

DAY 7  SATURDAY 3RD NOVEMBER 2018
Free Morning

1.00pm  Island Culture Tour
Experience the culture of our forebears!  From our Mutineer ancestors & their Tahitian wives came the arts of wood craft, weaving, cooking & our Norfolk language. On this tour you see a woodturning demonstration using Norfolk timber & visit an Island home where you will learn about our cooking.  An Island weaving demonstration & a presentation on the Norfolk Ianguage will follow the afternoon tea break.

7.15pm  Wonderland by Night
The setting is 10 acres of magical Norfolk pines & bushland lit up like an enchanted forest.  Meander along (or ride in the ‘moon buggy’) a gentle winding path with Archie, a descendant of the Bounty mutineers, as he recites his poems and lights up the dioramas.  Afterwards enjoy a light supper.

DAY 8  SUNDAY 4TH NOVEMBER 2018
Free morning

1.00pm  Convict Settlement Tour
Join us on an in-depth tour of the historic Georgian settlement of Kingston. Walk through the cemetery & hear the history of interesting convict & colonial headstones, hear stories of the houses along quality row. Walk through the ruins of the new goal, see the Pier Store, Boat Shed and the Crank Mill.  Afternoon tea included.

6pm   Dinner at Castaway

DAY 9  MONDAY 5TH NOVEMBER 2018
Time TBA  Transfers to Airport by Pinetree Tours.
Today it is bags packed, and we enjoy a free morning for last minute shopping before being transferred at approx. 11.25am (time to be reconfirmed by Pinetree Tours) to the Norfolk Island Airport for our Norfolk Air homeward bound flight to Sydney departing Norfolk Island at 1325 (1.25pm) N5763, arriving into Sydney at 1620 (4.20pm).(Flight times may be subject to change).
We then board the coach heading back to Wagga Wagga arriving late that evening.

OTHER INFORMATION:
CLIMATE – Sub tropical with temperatures ranging from 19-28 degrees in summer and 12 – 21 degrees in winter. Although cooler, the mid wear days of June and August can be very beautiful

CLOTHING – Comfortable and casual day and smart casual by night. It is wise to pack warm sweater, windcheater or jacket and a light raincoat. Good walking shoes or trainers. Remember a Hat and Sunscreen.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT – There is no public transport on Norfolk Island. Hire Cars are inexpensive.

SHOPPING HOURS – Shops, except for the Supermarket, mostly close on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons, but some remain open. Some open Sunday mornings till 12pm.

POWER OUTLETS – Norfolk Island use the same power outlets as Australia.

MONEY – The Australian dollar is the currency used on Norfolk Island. Most shops have EFPTOS machines available and there is a Commonwealth (ATM available) and Westpac bank on the Island

MOBILE PHONES – Mobile phones will generally only work if you have international roaming activated with your provider. Please contact your service provider for extra call and data charges that may occur.
