Monday 14th May 2018

  • 8am Depart Collins Park, Fox St Wagga and head towards Mildura.
  • Staying at the Quality Hotel Mildura Grand Seventh St, Ph: (03) 5023 0511

Tuesday 15th May 2018

  • Breakfast at the accommodation
  • We depart Mildura for Renmark visiting the Rustons Rose Garden and Car museum.
  • Have a delicious lunch at the award winning Renmark Hotel.
  • After lunch we go for tasting and have a tour of the local “23rd St Distillery”,
  • A century-old distillery reignited with new creative passion.
  • See the century-old copper stills, brought from cobwebbed disuse back to burnished glory. A guided tour and tasting will open your mind and your senses to new dimensions.
  • Afterwards we try the area’s local wines at the Angroves Winery where we get to sample to local produce.
  • We then travel into Barmera to relax at our accommodation before dinner.

Wednesday 16th May 2018

  • Breakfast at the accommodation
  • Today we have a local guide jump on board as we make our way down to the Murray River and the picturesque Lock 3 where we meet up with the Lock Master who will pass on the history of the Lock systems and river flows and passage of the river traffic. We then make our way towards Morgan via Mallyons on the Murray Bush Cafe and Gallery for morning tea.
  • We then make our way into Morgan stopping at Morgan’s Historic Museum consisting of the Living History Museum, River History Museum and Railway Museum.
  • We then enjoy a picnic lunch by the water’s edge before enjoying the self-guiding Heritage Walk for those who are up to it.
  • We then cross by river ferry and make our way to Waikerie and then onto Banrock Station Wine & Wetland Centre.
  • Later in the day we return to our resort to relax before dinner.

Thursday 17th May 2018

  • Breakfast at the accommodation
  • We make our way to Loveday to take in the history of the Internment Camp Museum.
  • Our next stop is the Cobdogla Steam Museum offering a minefield of history and Heritage, the museum features the world’s only working Humphrey Pump. There is also a 1906 Bangal Train offering rides through the extensive landscaped grounds and vineyard.
  • We now head to Backyard Bread for morning tea and demonstration.
  • We then venture across to the historic Overland Corner Hotel for lunch at the hotel.
  • This afternoon we enjoy a highlights tour of Barmera, taking Rocky’s Hall Of Fame and Bella Lavender Estate before enjoying some free time for some retail gratification.
  • We then make our way back to the resort for dinner Overnight Barmera:
    Staying at the Barmera Lake Resort Motel.

Friday 18th May 2018

  • Today we make our way towards Renmark calling at the historic Olivewood Estate situated on the outskirts of town. Constructed of logs, Olivewood was built in 1889 and still looks slightly out of place compared with the town’s other buildings.
  • After our tour we make our way down to the river and board our PS Industry morning Tea Cruise on the waters of the mighty Murray River.
  • Lunch at the Renmark Club
  • We make our way to Almond Co offering a broad range of almond products.
  • After leaving Almond Co we travel across to Loxton calling into the Pines Loxton Historic Home and Garden -The stately 100 year old home.
  • After a tour and afternoon tea we take a very short drive to the Loxton Historical Village. At the village you will step back in time, to a time before air-conditioners and computers. Learn how the townsfolk lived, where they went to church and school.

  • Staying at the Barmera Lake Resort Motel

Saturday 19th May 2018

  • Breakfast at the accommodation
  • Today we bid the Riverland farewell as we make our way back to Barham via Pinnaroo and Ouyen after enjoying a wonderful few days in the Riverland region.

Sunday 20th May 2018

  • Breakfast at the accommodation
  • We say goodbye to Barham and Hello Home!
  • Arriving in Wagga early evening

Cancellation Policy – In the event that Makehams Coaches have to cancel the tour, you will receive a full refund. If you as the passenger have to cancel the tour (depending how close to the date of departure), Makehams Coaches will refund you everything that we can retrieve from accommodations and attractions paid for. For this reason we recommend all passengers look into getting travel insurance.
